The historic El Canelo Ranch is located just south of the King Ranch in deep South Texas. The ranch is proud to offer world class wingshooting for bobwhite quail, mourning doves, and waterfowl. Superb wingshooting combined with our unique South Texas hospitality promise to make your stay unforgettable.
Hunters should expect to find bobwhite quail averaging in excess of 15 coveys or more per day and up to 25 coveys per day when scenting conditions are ideal. Our native and augmented quail populations offer high densities of birds in a challenging cactus and mesquite brush country setting. Late afternoon mourning dove hunts around water have proven challenging for even the most experienced wingshooters. Sunrise duck hunting over ranch ponds is a great way to start any day.

ALL HUNTS INCLUDE:
- Arrival at 1 p.m. day 1, departure 11:30 a.m. last day.
- Airport pickup is available at no additional charge (one round trip per group).
- Gourmet meals beginning with dinner on the day of arrival.
- Deluxe accommodations (double occupancy).
- All beverages except hard liquor (please bring your favorite.)
- Field transportation, professional guide, hunting dogs (if required).
- All birds processed on-site for your convenience.
- Two-day minimum on all bookings.
- Half-day hunts on the first and last days.
- Non-hunting guests are welcome at $200.00 per day on a space available basis.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:
- Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Deposits are due upon request.
- Hunters will be billed the full balance of their hunt if cancellations are not received within 20 days prior to their hunt.

Transportation InformationEl Canelo Ranch is best reached by flying into Valley International Airport at Harlingen, Texas. Our staff will greet you and transport you to the lodge. The ranch is approximately 45 minutes away. We will clean & package your game for the trip home in ice chests. The amount of birds that can be taken home (in season) are: 15 Doves / Day -30 total |
Shotgun InformationWe recommend 12 ga. for ducks and 20 ga. & 28 ga. for quail. 12 ga., 20 ga., 28 ga. and 410 ammunition is available at the Ranch. (steel shot shells in 12 ga. and 20 ga. are available for ducks) Loaner guns are available at no extra charge. Guns with variable chokes are ideal, improved cylinder and modified are also good choices. |
